A couple of promising types bred by the farm are starting to raise a few eyebrows in Hong Kong as of late. Crossborderpegasus has made it two wins from two starts with his impressive victory at Sha Tin on Saturday in the Azalea Handicap over 6F. Sent off $1.30fav, the gelded son of Rich Enuff had the race well under control as they came off the bend and went on to win comfortably, being eased down by Hugh Bowman.

“He [Crossborderpegasus] is an exciting horse, he’s got plenty of points in hand and he does have that tendency to lay in – which he needs to overcome as he goes up in the rating points – but we won’t be too critical of him at his second run in a race,” Bowman said.
Size said: “He’s going well. He’s certainly got a bit of ability and it’s just a matter of developing that. If he can improve on that, it will be promising for his future.”
The second foal out of the Fighting Sun mare Super Flare, Crossborderpegasus was sold by the farm as a weanling for $20,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast 2022 where he proved a profitable pinhook for his purchasers when going on to sell at Classics ’23 for $160,000.
The mare is currently back in foal to Rich Enuff having missed for the previous two seasons.

The 4YO son of Starpangledbanner [Brilliant Express] was also not going unnoticed with a very impressive win over 7 furlongs in the Citi Insurance Services Class 3 Handicap at Sha Tin. With 2 wins and three placings from nine starts, the John Size trained gelding looks to have a bright future given what he has shown so far.
Out of the listed winner Fun In Flight, Brilliant Express was a $80,000 weanling sale to Northmore Thoroughbreds at the 2021 edition of the Magic Millions weanling sale. Fun in Flight is now an official pensioner at the farm having finally delivered a much sought after daughter by Toronado last year.
